Her young friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, which made Kae decide to have a biopsy proactively, which revealed she had breast cancer in 2012. Over the course of her cancer journey, Kae received a lot of support from friends and survivors. As a result, she founded c-ribbons, an NPO that helps cancer patients. Now, she is starting up her jewelry brand, Nahana.

Margaret Keswick Jencks was a Scottish writer, artist, and garden designer who co-founded Maggie’s Centres

Maggie’s Centres welcome cancer patients and their families around the world. She passed away on July 8th, 1995, a year before the first Maggie’s Centre was built.

Naoto is a two-time cancer survivor and was an oncologist at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is an active advocator for patient empowerment and presented the theme at TEDxTokyo in 2011.
Naoto is the director of the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center.
